PROFESSOR N. VENKATRAMAN
PROFESSOR IN MANAGEMENT, STRATEGY AND INNOVATION
BOSTON UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT
A pioneer in how to organize IT resources to create value in the new economy, N. Venkatraman is the David J. McGrath Jr. Professor of Management at Boston University and Chairman of the Department of Information Systems. Venkatraman’s mission is to diminish the discomfort that exists between senior management and IT, and to get them thinking and working together creatively and effectively. He researches how strategic management and information technologies interface and helps business leaders reposition their companies in today’s knowledge economy.
Professor Venkatraman specializes in applying a network-centric view to business strategy, IT strategy and IT sourcing. He is adept at bringing together the Internet, intellectual resources, and alliances and partnerships, and at organizing IT resources as a value center. His message is purposely non-technical and designed to help general management audiences think about the opportunities and challenges presenting themselves as we move away from the industrial age into the new economy.
