Supply Chain Masters very successful

Home

On the 5th of June 2008, the ex KLM Boeing 747 stationed et the Aviodrom in Lelystad, the Netherlands, was the venue for the Supply Chain Masters event on transportation with the subtitle of 'Trust and Transparency in the Supply Chain'. On opening the event, chairman Rens de Jong of Business News Radio said that “in the world of flying, everything revolves around trust and transparency”.  The event was organized by TruEconomy Consulting in co-operation with Supply Chain Magazine.

“KLM built trust by having a good track record”, according to de Jong. He claims that trust is easily lost and that transparency is essential in building trust. “But do you want to be completely transparent?” An altered flight safety card showing what really would be happening in a plane crash, is highly transparent but will not build trust.

Presentation of the TruEconomy MIT Research into European Supply Chains was big success.

November 28, 2008

The afternoon of November 21st the ‘Beurs van Berlage’ in Amsterdam was the venue for the second Supply Chain Masters this year, during which TruEconomy and MIT presented the results into the European supply chains. Part of the research emphasized on the differences between American and European supply chains.

After an introduction by US expert Dr. Maarten van Rossem, who explained the cultural and business difference between the US and Europe, Professor David Simch-Levi from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the US, took the audience through the findings and conclusions of the research. Simchi-Levi had flown in from the US especially for this event.

During the break the over 70 attendees enjoyed the networking opportunity over coffee and ‘petit fours’.

Then it was time for Roberto Crippa from BTicino in Italy to give his view on the research and explained the actions already set in motion after having learned the outcome of the study. Roberto was amongst the 110 supply chain executives from all over the world who participated in the research.

After a panel discussion, Chairman Rens de Jong from BNR Nieuwradio closed the event and announced it was time for drinks.
