All ins and outs about S&OP in one day

S&OP training on March 18th 2010

Implementing a successful sales and operations planning (S&OP) process is the first step in building an integrated, demand driven organization.

S&OP is not a new process. It was first conceived in the late 1980s and has been refined over the past 20 years. When done correctly, S&OP is a collaborative, cross-functional process that aligns capabilities and exposes opportunities to shape demand, allocate resources to the most profitable products and customers, and refine supply chain activities for maximum profitability.

Still, research indicates that 35% of companies do not yet have an S&OP process in place, while many more are not satisfied with their current S&OP performance and are considering a redesign in response to competitive pressures, outsourcing and M&A activity or simply to take advantage of the latest technological innovations.
